How to Use Adverbs of Frequency in English?

Adverbs of frequency show how often an action is performed in English. For this reason, English frequency adverbs are generally used before the verb in the sentence. We indicate who performed this action without using the adverb of frequency in the sentence. In other words, the subject comes before the frequency adverb. In addition, we can also use frequency adverbs in questions.

Always

Always indicates that an action always occurs regularly.

Example: I always brush my teeth before going out. (I always brush my teeth before going out.) :🦷

Usually

Usually shows that an action is usually done most of the time.

Example: She usually eats breakfast at a restaurant. (He usually has breakfast at the restaurant.) 🍽️

Rarely

Rarely indicates that an action is performed very rarely.

Hardly Ever

Hardly ever indicates that an action is almost never done.
